5 Things Creating Mental Sludge in Your Life

If you feel like you're stuck and can't get out of your own way, here's why...

This year has been one hell of a year. Have you thought about a new career or actually going after your dreams? Have you even started the process yet???

With EVERYTHING going on this year, 2020 should be the year that you ask yourself some important questions:

  • What do I really want to do with my life?

  • How do I keep myself out of THIS financial mess ever again?

  • How do I work from home?

  • How do I gain more control of my job/career life?

  • How do I find my purpose?

Let me jumpstart your engine so we can get rid of the sludge and start moving on your fast track to clarity.

1 - Your need to be perfect is molasses in January when it comes to you making progress. You don’t need to be perfect. Just ask Bill Gates. The PC was not the perfect computer when it first came out. It’s still not the perfect computer nor will it ever be. The one thing that the PC did was massively produce their product first.

Once they were first on the scene, they could tinker with what worked and get rid of the things that didn’t work (based on the customer reviews). They essentially put out an unfinished product and finished it (made it better) while it was on the market. It was a win-win.

While everyone else was waiting to put something phenomenally perfect out to the customers, Microsoft already mass produced their product and had it out there first.

Too many people worry about being perfect before actually just putting in the work and figuring out what works and what doesn’t.

2 - You have to committed mindset FIRST, then figure the rest out as you go along. Most people try to figure it all out first and then when they think they’ve got a good it, they’ll decide to commit to it. When you learn to be committed to your project regardless of what happens, you eventually figure out what you needed to know along the way. This is like killing two birds with one stone. You may have an inferior product but you can work out the kinks along the way with customer reviews.

3 - Fear is the biggest driving force to keeping people from going after their dreams. Too many people want to look into a crystal ball and know exactly what’s going to happen. You will never have all the answers. In fact, you will sometimes think you have the answers to only try something and fail miserably.

What we fear is what we need to be attacking. Fear is usually our mental sign to take action. You’re either fighting for it or you’re running away from it.

Learn to be in constant Attack Mode. Stop running away from fear. The more you run away from it, the more you allow it to become a monster that you can never defeat. The more you conquer your fears, the more you become fearless. Which do you want to become? Fearful or fearless?

4 - Become friends with being embarrassed - because IT WILL happen to you. Most people just don’t have confidence in failing and/or embarrassing themselves. Yes, you have to have confidence in failing as well as possibly embarrassing yourself with a bad decision.

This is the very reason why people second guess everything. Because they don’t want to fail and they don’t want to be embarrassed. This is understandable but if you don’t forgo your emotions to the possibilities of failing and being embarrassed, you’ll always be stuck second guessing yourself. Be someone who’s about taking action and not someone who’s paralyzed by analyzation.

5 - Do you have ANY plan in place whatsoever? This ain't Vegas where you're hoping to get lucky. You better STOP IT! You've got to have a plan. A general plan that will help you make moves and keep you on track.

This is the part where most people spend too much time working on. The planning and research phase. This part can be fun but at some point, it’ll be time to take action. A plan doesn’t mean shit unless it’s executed.

It’s good to have a plan of attack. A precise plan of attack is even better but like the great Mike Tyson once said, everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth.

Be ready for your plan to get blown up after you get hit in the mouth. It's okay if it does get blown up... it's not about your plan falling apart, it's MORE ABOUT how well you're able to pivot and KEEP GOING.

Stay positive,

Fred
